                           Index Mark


                  0°- 5°-10°-15°20° Timing Marks

            During installation align lower plate index mark with bottom plate
            timing mark for desired amount of vacuum advance.
            0° will make distributor fully mechanical advance.

Fixed Limiters are available in custom ranges from 2-20° in lots of 100.

             · Limiters can also change rate of vacuum advance
             ·While installing displace vacuum advance control rod toward vacuum advance
                    ( compressing internal spring ). This increases spring pressure against
                    diaphragm of vacuum advance in netural position. This affects level of vacuum
                    required to advance – retard timing.

Spring pressure controls vacuum levels required to advance – retard ignition timing.

    Under hard acceleration most vacuum advances retard timing to much.
    Excessive timing retard reduces power and enconomy.
    By limiting amount of vacuum advance (amount of timing retard under acceleration)
    performance and economy improve in most applications.

    By limiting vaccum advance you can still retard timing just enough under acceleration to prevent detonation.
    By controlling timing retard accurately engines can produce more performance and economy.
    In some cases initial timing can be increased when vacuum advance is limited increasing power even more.
Engines with Mechanical Advance Distributors
    Timing does not retard under acceleration or low vacuum.
    For racing or performance applications. Generally increased octane fuels are required.
