Position transmission in car with crossmember
attached. Align mounting pads centering them on
the bottom of frame rail on each side.
Using the crossmember for hole alignment, drill
4 each 29/64 into bottom of frame rail for
crossmember attachment.

Attach threaded rod to inner plates, which will serve
as a handle to install inner plates through frame opening.
Threaded rod may need to be bent slightly for installation
of Inner plate.

See red arrow in above photo.

Position inner plates above holes drilled in frame rail. 54010-2.jpg (21245 bytes)
Install bolts through drilled holes and screw them into
threaded holes in inner plates being held in position.

After installation remove threaded rod from inner plates.
Some applications require slight trimming on sides of upper plate for alignment with bolt holes drilled.
The location of your drilled holes will determine if trimming is necessary. See blue arrow above.

This is a big transmission going into a small place. Some cars may require small indentation in floor panel for clearance above transmission. Mounting position was made as high as possible to maintain proper alignment and good ground clearance.
